They supported me in my quest to become an engineer in a foreign country with careful follow-up and an extensive training system.
Mr. Soe Lynn Htet
(Current: mechanical design engineer)
I studied mechanical engineering and Japanese in Myanmar and came to Japan to become an engineer in the world's most technologically advanced country. SSE listened carefully to my wishes to "do more upstream design" and "acquire a wider range of knowledge" and fulfilled them one after another. I would like to continue to work here to achieve even higher goals in the future.
They are attentive to each individual's wishes
Since coming to Japan, I have looked for work at other companies, but I have not been able to find the ideal job. However, SSE listened to me in detail, not only about my past experience and job preferences, but also about the skills I wanted to acquire and who I wanted to be in the future. The sales staff then did their best to find me a job that matched these requirements. I think that's why I was able to find the job I really wanted, which would lead me to the person I want to be. I was able to trust them.
Free to choose and learn
SSE has a wide range of training programs, including e-learning and workshops. I can freely choose what I want to study, which is very useful for expanding my knowledge and improving my skills, and I make use of it a lot. So far, I have studied mechanical drafting and SolidWorks in SSE training. In the future, I would like to learn about AI, although it is not directly related to my current job.
Feel secure
SSE has many career counsellors with practical experience as engineers. They provide a range of advice based on understanding of technical topics. And they give you accurate advice. The sales staff are also very approachable. I wanted to expand my electrical knowledge and acquire more multi-skills, I wanted to change my environment and challenge myself, and I wanted to achieve this before I turned 30, and they made it happen. I feel secure in the knowledge that they will worry with me and think about my future with me.
Become an engineer who can contribute to society
The important thing is to first have a clear image of who you want to be. In order to achieve this, you need to think about what you are lacking and what you need to study to fill the gaps. I thought that in order to improve my skills, I needed to communicate better with my colleagues, so I also obtained the JLPT N1. If you act on your own, a way will always open up. I would like to continue to expand my skills and knowledge through proactive action, and in the future, I would like to engage in manufacturing that contributes to society.
Around 300 foreign engineers work at SSE.
